"raise a glass to mend all the broken hearts of my wrecked up friends."
To all my ladies who have had their hearts broken and/or are in crappy relationships:
I raise my glass to you, in hopes that this year, we will mend all our broken hearts and find someone that will love us back the way we love them. May this year bring us the strength to say no to assholes who don't deserve our time, to keep our self-respect and dignity in tact, to acknowledge the fact we are not just a convenience to people and we deserve so, so much better than everything we've put up with in the past. I hope this year will bring us closer to letting go of all the walls and insecurities that our broken hearts has forced us to have. There should be no more settling, feeling belittled, worthless, non-existent... men who cannot grow a pair and be the person we need them to be, should have no right to play any part in our lives.
We all deserve so much better than the crap that we have all put up with, thinking that this is as good as it can possibly get. Why settle? When there is so much better out there.
And this is exactly what we should do to the stupid boys that come into our lives and don't deserve any time.
#1. Make the 101 Goals in 1,001 Days and post online
I'm a few days early! Yes! I finally finished up my goals list after many hours spent blankly starring at the computer screen. After finishing up the list, I realized that all of these goals will end up costing me a bit of money. So, there may end up being some changes here and there to the list. We shall see.
I'm still not planning on starting anything on this list until January 8, 2010. I get a few more days of being completely content with not accomplishing any of these goals.
So until then, I guess there will be no posts unless I do something. :) Who knows? Maybe I'll be productive and actually post something. Highly unlikely though.
I was supposed to have accomplished creating my 101 goals by January 1, but that still hasn't happened yet. I'm giving myself another deadline, January 8, 2010. I will for sure have everything up by then, I hope.
But with the new deadline now being set, I will be more determined to think of more goals. I'm at 65. I'll keep going.
With that, here are my final thoughts for the year 2009:
This year came and went quicker than I could have imagined possible, but I'm definitely glad it is finally over. 2009 was a year of tests for me, testing myself in ways that I will never, ever do again. Things started off rough and are ending only a tad bit better than they started. I'm having high hopes for 2010, at least I'm trying to. With all the bad juju that came with this year, I still managed to weasel in a few good things: I finally got a good grasp of judgement of character - I think that I finally got a hold of weeding out all the bad people in my life and filled them with the good ones, I have an amazing family - including a new sister-in-law and a baby niece on the way! and friends that have been there for me through it all, despite the arguments, bickerings and misunderstandings. So here's to the new year... may it bring the people I love all the love and happiness they deserve. It wouldn't hurt if I could get some of that too. ;)
So after spending time analyzing my life, I realized that I have not accomplished anything worth while. Sad, but true. And unless I give myself some guidelines, nothing will ever really happen. So I stumbled upon Jenn's blogs and saw that she started a 101 Goals in 1001 Days. This inspired me.
After sitting at Tea Bar with Carol for a few hours, we decided that we would start this whole goal thing.
This is my attempt, which hopefully will turn into accomplishment is this: 101 Goals in 1001 Days, beginning on January 1, 2010.
So for the next few weeks, I have time to create 101 goals. Which is turning out to be very tough.
I guess this blog will not be updated until I have the 101 goals completed.
Until then...
